Our Greatcoats are the clothing equivalent of armour, protecting against the harshest elements of winter weather. In Sweden, with a climate conspiring to make overcoats wearable from autumn to spring, this a wardrobe investment that really counts.
Made from Marling & Evans renowned undeyed tweed in a wide herringbone design. The fabric is presented in muted, tonal colours that will pair well with everything.
The Greatcoat has a design heritage dating back to the 17th century. Popularised in the 19th century, as both military uniform and casual wear for the wealthy, it is still issued for inclement weather by many of today’s armed forces around the world.
This model features a guards back, double breasted buttoning set up, slanted pockets, high collar, inverted centre back pleat and turn back cuffs.
The RTW (Ready-to-wear) products from Götrich are fully handmade in our own ateliers*, using the same craft and quality standards as our bespoke garments. To name a few examples the chest is fully canvassed and hand padded, sleeve heads are fitted by hand, button holes are handmade, etc.
